Environmental Performance of Buildings Directive
From Sustainable Building Resource
On 1st Oct 2008, the Environmental Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) was reformed to include non-domestic buildings. The EPBD sets minimum energy standards and limiting overall CO2 emissions linked to Part L of the Buildings Regulations.
The most visible impact will be the requirement for all buildings to have an energy performance certificate (EPC). These certificates will have to be prepared when a building is constructed, rented or sold and must be visible to the public.
