Iso Bloco One Window and Door Tape

Fitting high quality windows and doors needs to be done with high quality fixing and finishes, we can see no point in high performance components being installed with poor tapes and seals that have limited life spans.

Silicon sealants will fail with age, as will the expanding foams that are commonly used to insulate and fill around windows and doors. This is because of a range of issues like UV light, weathering, movement of the windows and doors due to use, changes in pressure etc. So after a few years the seals around the windows and doors will start to lose their effectiveness and this will cause a range of problems, with draughts, water ingress and loss of heat being the most common.

So the cure? We recommend using the Iso Chemie, Iso Bloco One tape. This is a tape that is easily fitted to the window before installation that then expands to fit the gap between the window / door and reveal to give an airtight, watertight and insulating finish. The tape is like a contiband tape in this regard, but with the added airtight function. With airtightness becoming more important this product is an essential addition to the tools available to builders.

The tapes are expensive on the face of it, however there are some built in cost savings:

Windows can be fitting in the rain. The tapes are open pored and hence will allow any moisture on the sills / reveals to evaporate off.

The tapes expand to fill the gaps and so there is a degree of flexibility when measuring windows.

However the tapes cannot be used where they will sit in water, so the bottoms of ground floor doors will need to be sealed using a non-breathable seal. These are also available through Iso Chemie.
