Green Paint

This is the paint that was awarded "best on test" exterior gloss paint in the April 2002 Which magazine. This was a long term test and during the test period the paint was renamed from Novocoat by Green Paints to just Green Paints Gloss. It is however the same award winning paint in all but name.

The gloss paint has recently changed its formula and this has proved to be less reliable and so we are not carrying any of the new stock of glosses, however our existing stock is fine and performs very well.

For use on internal and external wood and metal. The gloss enamel has a very durable gloss finish, while the semi-gloss enamel has a soft sheen also with a very durable finish. Both are protective on wood and anti-corrosive on metal. High solids for excellent coverage.

We stock white and soft white in 1 litre pots, but there is a fuller range of colours if required. Click here to buy Green Paint

We chose this paint above the others as it comes with an excellent set of reports, but is also easy to use and also very cheap by comparison to some natural paints. The only issue with the paint is that it takes approx. 6 weeks to completely cure. It is touch dry in 3-4 hours and effectively dry overnight, but in areas where it might be heavily compressed (door jambs for example) it might appear to 'stick' for a number of weeks. Most paints have a similar quirk, but it is something to be aware of.

The earthBorn paints were also very good but they have withdrawn them from sale in order to make the company totally VOC free. The earthBorn equivalent is the ProAqua Eggshell.
