Rounded Developments Enterprises keep a small stock of Ty Mawr Lime products in order to save people the time or transport charges associated with sourcing products from Brecon. For large quantities it is always better to go to a large stockist / distributor, but we aim to provide a service that is helpful to residents in and around Cardiff.
Lime is an excellent product for a number of reasons:
It is breathable - to provide a better quality interior environment
It is less strong than the stone or brick that it binds - this means that they can be re-used easily
It is more flexible than cement - this means that you do not need the ugly expansion joints that you see in relatively short walls
It 'dries' by absorbing carbon dioxide from the air - this means that it is compensating slightly for the energy used in production
It is made at a lower temperature than cement - thus it is associated with fewer carbon emissions
It is easy to use, but it is also significantly different from cement
Lime Wash is a traditional paint for lime based walls. 20l covers 20-40 sq metres depending on the substrate. 3 coats are normally applied. It can be easily coloured using pigments.
