Natural Floor treatment	Show:
Floors are such an important part of the appearance of a house, but they can also have a large impact on the health of the residents. Chemicals used in many flooring products are toxic and also give off fumes for a long time after installation. Use natural products wherever you can as these are generally much healthier and also have less impact on non-renewable resource use. Use natural products for floor coverings like wood, cork, natural fibre carpets, marmoleum and stone. Be careful when it comes to ftting as often carpets are glued down using smelly and noxious adhesives. When treating these floors it is best to use natural alternatives. RDE stock a range of treatments for wood, cork and stone flooring. We have a lacquer from earthBorn. This is very hard wearing and is equivalent to the standard polyurethane finish. EarthBorn and Auro also have a range of Hard Oils these are suitable for all floors. These are then waxed to provide a wearing surface. Auro produce a water based finish as well. This is only suitable for soft wood flooring. Osmo produce a HardWax product that does not require any sanding between coats. This is a combination finish so there is no need to wax afterwards. So, when ordering please bear in mind the different types of products and how they inter-relate. i.e buy in a systematic manner. The Auro products especially need to be purchased with this in mind.
